Automatic Ball Trap

Here we have the next step up from DTL, once more the target is basically a ‘going away bird’, however unlike DTL the trap is situated flush with the ground and oscillates not only from side to side but also up and down.

There is of course a maximum & minimum height and a maximum angle from side to side but the trajectory of the clay is totally random beteween these parameters.
The clay is faster than in DTL and the angles from side to side are greater, this makes for a harder target.

As can be seen from the above diagram there are six guns to this discipline and after the person on your right has fired you move immediately to that stand.

No shots are fired from peg 6 the shooter here moves to stand 1 when it is free, loads and takes his shot from there.
